My First Test Video Blog-ish Kinda’ Thing…

11 Dec

A little test run at my webcam.  What do you think, does the webcam suck?  Suggestions?  Thoughts?

Looks good to me other than the lighting…a little blurry. How did you do this with a web cam?

    • Madge Madigan December 11, 2012 at 1:55 pm #

Yes, did it with webcam. Have a digital hand held somewhere, may try that. Just webcam is convenient, ya’ know? But if quality sucks, I’ll try something else.

Love it.. Just stop scratching your nose & ears ;) also can you make your chair lower so we can see your face better?

    • Madge Madigan December 11, 2012 at 2:23 pm #

Oh yes, I was just sitting with the laptop on my lap. I intend to sit at a table, fix the lighting, and stop the fidgeting. :)

Will be great with your proposed changes. :)

When I webconf, I put the laptop on a box so it’s eye level… It keeps my chin from showing so much (not that your chin was showing, I’m just saying… oh hey, loved the chicken and broccoli Girl!) Seriously, good for you for doing this! I look forward to more vlogs in the future! :)

No, I know what you’re saying, my chin and neck seem to be the focal point and every time I make certain movements it looks like I have 4 chins. Thanks!

I figured the angle was intended so you can look down on us little people.

I love the idea of a vlog. It can be a great way to share information. It can be a great way to share your personality with your audience.

On a technical note, you might be better served with the hand held cam. It can be easier to forget that its there. When you become less conscious of the camera it is much easier to just be yourself.

    • Madge Madigan December 11, 2012 at 3:25 pm #

Yes, but is “myself” interesting enough to have a vlog? lol

      • Jon Jefferson December 11, 2012 at 3:32 pm #

Absolutely. I have seen people way duller than you with vlogs and blogs succeed (I mean really, people check me out on occasion). You have something to offer. I am not sure what yet, but something none the less.

        • Madge Madigan December 11, 2012 at 3:41 pm #

Hey! That somehow wasn’t a ringing endorsement. lol

Tripod, love. A nice comfy Madge chair, end table with coffee mug and overhead lighting. Also put the camera and monitor at the same level so you can glance rather than look away from one, to see the other…eye level or a bit higher. I want to be your Production Manager!! Wish we were neighbors!

Yup yup, all coming. I used my built-in laptop camera, so uh I don’t know what I was looking at. I do know I should never show the profile of my nose again… ever.

Great line from Dr. Who on webcams: “Wife won’t let me get one. She says they’re naughty”
